Level 2 Hair Professionals - Barbering

The Level 2 Hair Professionals provides nationally recognised qualifications for those who want to pursue a career in the hair and  beauty industry, as either a barber or a hairdresser.

The aims of this qualification are:  

  • To develop an understanding of working in the hair industry.  
  • To develop and demonstrate competence at carrying out fundamental hair  dressing and barbering techniques.  
  • To provide a progression route within the hair industry, for those interested in  barbering or hairdressing

Course details

There are no set entry requirements for this course. 

  • Working in a Salon Environment 
  • Carrying Out Client Consultation as a Hair Professional  
  • Shampooing, Conditioning and Treating Hair 
  • Cutting Hair using Barbering Techniques  
  • Styling and Finishing Hair using Barbering  Techniques 
  • Providing Shaving Services 
  • Cutting Facial Hair 


Plus a choice of one optional unit:

  • Colouring and Lightening Hair 
  • Perm and Neutralise Hair 
  • Permanently Relax Hair 


This qualification is delivered by a blend of face to face & online sessions. 

This qualification is made of of practical assessments and assignments.
