Our Provision
Our alternative provision supports young people aged 11–18 through a practical, hands-on learning environment designed to help them develop and strengthen their knowledge, skills, and behaviours within the Hairdressing, Barbering, Beauty, and Health sectors. We are approved by Essex County Council and on the Individual Packages of Education (IPES) framework.
The programmes are delivered through a blended approach, combining classroom-based learning with practical training sessions in our purpose-built training centre located in Colchester, Essex.
Our experienced trainers use a unique delivery model that allows learners to progress at their own pace, providing the support needed to help them achieve their personal goals and aspirations.
As part of our approach, we carry out initial and diagnostic assessments to ensure appropriate reasonable adjustments are in place for each learner. Across all programmes, we embed core learning elements consistently, which are reflected throughout our sessions and learning resources.

Alongside the delivery of all core elements, we also focus on the associated behaviours required within each sector. This approach helps to broaden young people’s understanding of the industries, enhance their opportunities, and better prepare them for the world of work.
These essential skills and behaviours are embedded throughout our delivery and are further reinforced through our Wellbeing and Mindfulness workbooks, which are integrated into all of our programmes.
